Boracay Island
Beach Coastal BeachesBoracay Island is a small island in the Philippines, renowned for its stunning white-sand beaches and vibrant nightlife. It is located in the Western Visayas region, just off the northwest corner of Panay Island. Boracay is famous for its White Beach, a four-kilometer stretch of powdery white sand lapped by shallow, crystal-clear turquoise waters. The island is also known for its water sports, such as scuba diving, snorkeling, windsurfing, and kiteboarding, thanks to its clear waters and abundant marine life. Beyond the beach, Boracay has a hilly interior that offers some hiking opportunities and panoramic views. The island's main road runs parallel to White Beach and is lined with a variety of restaurants, bars, souvenir shops, and hotels, catering to a range of budgets and preferences. Despite its small size, Boracay has a well-developed tourism infrastructure, making it one of the Philippines' most popular destinations for both local and international travelers. The island underwent a six-month rehabilitation closure in 2018 to address environmental issues, and since reopening, it has implemented regulations to maintain its natural beauty and sustainability.
